Essi sono il mezzo con il quale è riuscito a sopravvivere a innumerevoli aggressioni subite sia durante i servizi di sicurezza da lui svolti che nella vita di tutti i giorni, e con il quale ha dato vita a suoi metodi di difesa personale.
